Bloomington and Rosemount School Districts

Nearly a dozen lawsuits were filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleging early retirement incentive plans at the two districts discriminated against older employees and retirees. The lawsuits claimed the plans reduced payments to employees as they grew older instead of treating them equally regardless of age. The two Minnesota districts have agreed to award retired teachers a $682,000 age discrimination settlement. (Oct-17-05) [WCCO NEWS]
