West Marine

The district attorneys offices in Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties filed a civil suit against the boating supplies retail and wholesale company for allegedly using scanners that systematically overcharged customers. Over 400 West Marine stores and U.S. Marine Centers in 38 states, Puerto Rico, and Canada were thought to be included in the case. The lawsuit claimed the scanners frequently rang up products at prices above the shelf price and above the lowest advertised price. West Marine has agreed to pay a $400,000 settlement.
