Exxon Mobil Corp.

The U.S. Government claimed the world's largest publicly traded oil company violated the "New Source Review" section of the Clean Air Act, which requires refineries and utilities to install pollution reduction equipment when they upgrade and expand their facilities. Texas based Exxon Mobil has agreed to pay an $8.7 million civil penalty and spend $9.7 million on community environmental projects.
