Wells Fargo

On October 6, 2005, the Superior Court in the County of San Francisco granted final approval of a settlement paying $1 million to Wells Fargo customers with credit cards linked to their checking accounts for overdraft protection. The plaintiff brought the suit after her entire credit limit was advanced to cover her checking account and a program fee was then charged to the credit card forcing her into an "overlimit" situation on the credit card. Wells Fargo has since stopped the practice of charging overlimit fees arising solely from the overdraft protection program. (Oct-14-05)
