Thirty nine year old Ruth Hubbs was found dead in the Leon County Jail infirmary on May 16, 2003. She died from an antidepressant overdose and her family filed a lawsuit against the company that oversees inmate care at the facility. Hubbs had been given large doses of the antidepressant Doxepin; she had an intoxicating level of the drug in her system at the time of death.
