Whistleblower and employee, Lorenzo Marrero claimed the company falsified certifications about the quality of their work. Breeze-Eastern allegedly submitted claims for payment based on contracts with government agencies; however, certifications regarding the work were falsified. The manufacturer, over hauler and repairer of helicopter hoists and hooks has agreed to pay the federal government a $1.1 million settlement. Marrero will receive $220,000 of the settlement.
