This is a settlement for the Commercial lawsuit.
Eight years ago, the transport authority filed a lawsuit against Argonaut Insurance Co. claiming breach of contract and breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing regarding the construction of the Metro Rail System from 1986 to 1996. Argonaut filed a counterclaim lawsuit against the LA County MTA for unpaid deductibles and expenses. Argonaut is an underwriter of specialty insurance products in the property and casualty market. They are set to receive a $45 million cash settlement from the LA County MTA by September 15th. (Aug-26-05)
