Marilynn Alsdorf

In 1975 Alsdorf purchased a painting title 'Femme en Blanc' by Pablo Picasso for $375 from a New York gallery. In 2002 she tried to sell the painting but the Art Loss Register in London began investigating its history. The painting was stolen by Nazis during World War II from a Jewish woman. Her grandson, Thomas Bennigson, is still alive today. Marilynn Alsdorf will be allowed to sell the work of for an estimated $12 million and has decided to pay Bennigson $6.5 million.
