Stereotaxis Inc.

The University of Virginia Patent Foundation filed a lawsuit against the company for allegedly violating patent laws. Stereotaxis built a complex surgical system that uses a magnetic field to guide catheters through blood vessels and the heart. A core piece of that technology was developed at the University, but licensed by the company. Stereotaxis has agreed to pay a $3.65 million settlement to resolve the patent dispute and avoid paying royalties. (Jul-16-05) [RED NOVA]
