Georgetowne Place Retirement Apartments

This is a settlement for the Discrimination lawsuit.

A class action lawsuit was filed against the Seattle based Merrill Gardens company for allegedly refusing to hire minority applicants. The company marked applications to identify minorities and denoted black people's applications. Merrill Gardens has agreed to a $650,000 racial discrimination settlement. Minorities who applied at Georgetowne Place between February 1998 and April 2005 who think they may not have been hired based on their race or ethnicity may be included in the settlement.
