Applied Card Systems

The state of West Virginia filed a lawsuit against the company alleging violations of consumer protection laws. Applied Card processes credit card accounts and operates a call center in Huntington that employs nearly 400 workers; the lawsuit claimed they used abusive collection methods. The state is set to receive a $1.5 million settlement and the money will be used to fund consumer education, credit or bankruptcy counseling and education, and conflict resolution programs.
