City of Laurel

In August 2003, former Laurel city attorney Matt Erekson filed a lawsuit against the city alleging wrongful discharge and civil rights violations. The suit claimed Erekson was wrongfully terminated and denied due process guaranteed by the 5th and 14th Amendments to the Constitution. Mayor Ken Olson, Jr. has agreed to execute the settlement with Erekson and pay him $15,000 to release all claims against the city and former Mayor John Johnson. (Jun-22-05) [LAUREL OUTLOOK]
