Apple and MTV

The two companies used Eminem's "Lose Yourself" song in an iPod advertising campaign for three months in 2003. Apple was originally denied permission to use the track but decided to use it in TV ads and online to promote its digital music player and its iTunes download service. Rap star Eminem filed a patent lawsuit against Apple, MTV and TBWA/Chiat/Day advertising agency. Eminem sought $10 million in damages but the final settlement was undisclosed. (May-11-05) [BBC NEWS]
