Police Officer Tony Zeppetella was shot to death two years ago while wearing a bulletproof vest. His widow sued Second Chance Body Armor Inc. and the Japanese company that made the Zylon fiber used in the vests. The lawsuit claimed that if the vest performed as promised, her husband would still be alive. Professional Police Supply Inc. has agreed to pay $15,000 in legal fees and will award Tony's son $45,000 and his wife $105,000 in this wrongful death settlement. (Apr-21-05) [MONTEREY HERALD]
