Mobil Exploration & Producing U.S. Inc.

The Justice Department claimed the firm violated the Clean Air Act, used equipment without permits, and exceeded air pollution emission limits of sulfur dioxide and volatile organic compounds. Environmental concerns were focused on their oil production facility on the Navajo Nation in Utah. Mobile has agreed to pay a $350,000 penalty and spend another $500,000 on operation improvements. They will also spend $100,000 on a new public heath project for X-ray equipment and processors. (Apr-09-05) [ NEW KERALA ]
