In 1991, postal worker Ray Krone was arrested for the killing of bartender, Kim Ancona. He was convicted and sentenced to death, but it was overturned in on procedural grounds. In 1996 a new trial was ordered and Krone was convicted a second time. After a decade in prison, DNA proved Krone's innocence and he was released. Maricopa County has agreed to pay him a $1.4 million settlement for wrongful conviction. (Mar-24-05) [EVENING SUN]
