A civil fraud lawsuit was filed against the company for allegedly altering financial statements from advertising revenues and subscriber counts at its AOL unit. The largest media company has agreed to pay $300 million to the Securities and Exchange Commission and another $210 million to resolve charges of criminal securities fraud in a separate investigation by the Department of Justice.
