Department of Transportation

On August 19, 2002, Jason Michael Drake was stopped at an intersection when struck from behind by a pickup truck. Michael J. Lapko's Ford truck pushed Drake's car into oncoming traffic where it was hit by another car. Drake's parents sued Lapko and the Department of Transportation for the death of their son. They alleged the intersection was designed poorly and have been awarded a $1 million wrongful death settlement. (Mar-09-05) [PITTSBURG LIVE]
