Staples, Winchester

A former Shenandoah University student settled a discrimination lawsuit filed against Staples office supply store in Winchester. A federal court awarded Jesse Williams, 42, $50,000 after determining the Winchester Staples discriminated against him because he is black. Williams claimed Staples would accept out of state checks from white customers but declined them from those who were black. Undercover agents found Mr. Williams claim to be true. [WAVY NEWS]
