A $5 million settlement has been reached in the lawsuit filed by four women who allege that the department failed to act on allegations that former trooper Michael Evans was sexually assaulting women. In 2000, Evans pled guilty to corruption of minors, indecent assault, solicitation to promote prostitution, official oppression and indecent exposure, and he is currently serving a 5 to 10 year prison sentence.
