$12.6 million in punitive and compensatory damages has been awarded to the Holdgrafer family of San Luis Obispo, California. The suit was filed in reference to an underground oil spill which occurred decades ago, leaking crude oil from a pipeline and causing an underground plume of pollution about 300 feet wide and 2,200 feet long.
