eBay Patent Infringement

A $29.5 million verdict has been found against eBay in the patent-infringement lawsuit filed against the Internet auction house by Thomas G. Woolston. Woolston, a Virginia inventor, claimed that the way the company conducts sales of fixed-price merchandise infringed on patents that belong to him. In addition to the monetary settlement, the company will implement design changes to avoid infringing on the patents in the future. (Aug-07-03) [WIRED]
