Tenet Healthcare Corp.

A $54 million settlement has been reached in the lawsuit filed against Tenet Healthcare Corp, Redding Medical Center and Tenet HealthSystems Hospitals Inc. The suit was filed by the federal government, claiming that two doctors had performed unnecessary heart procedures. The settlement will cover all unnecessary heart procedures allegedly performed at Redding Medical Center between 1997 and 2002, which that were billed to Medicare, Medicaid and the military's Tricare program.
