City of Philadelphia et al.

A $1.05 million settlement has been reached in the lawsuit filed by former West Point cadet Kevin Galligan in regards to injuries he suffered when a railing collapsed at Veterans Stadium almost five years ago. The suit was filed against the city of Philadelphia, Hussey Seating Company of North Berwick, Maine who installed the handrails, and Contemporary Services Corp. of Northridge, California who was responsible for crowd management at the game. The other plaintiff in the case, Army Capt. Mark Chandler, will receive $50,000 for injuries he suffered. (Jul-17-03)
