New Jersey Court Centralizes Reglan Lawsuits

. By
Trenton, NJA superior court in New Jersey recently resolved to centralize a number of Reglan lawsuits.

According to court documents, the Superior Court of New Jersey decided that the Reglan lawsuits should be combined to "avoid duplication and to prevent conflicts."

Everyone who filed one of the affected lawsuits will need to file an individual complaint with the Atlantic County Courthouse in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and each complaint is limited to one plaintiff or group of related plaintiffs.

Judge Carol E. Higbee will hold an in-person conference to discuss matters of case management on August 20 at the Atlantic County Courthouse. Specifically, the judge will speak with the Reglan lawyers about liaison counsel, the master complaint form, the filing of answers and initial discovery issues.

Reglan, generically known as metocrlopramide, is a drug used short-term to treat such maladies as heartburn, nausea and vomiting. It has been revealed that the medication can cause a number of serious side effects, such as Tardive Dyskinesia (TD), which is a disabling movement disorder.
