MRI Health Risks: "I think Gadolinium Killed my Brother"

. By
Richmond, VA"My brother had several MRI's with gadolinium and I believe it caused his death; he passed away on Sept 10, 2007," says Brian. "On his death certificate there is a check mark next to both natural death and accidental death, and from what I understand, gadolinium was recognized as harmful [MRI health risk] and causing NSF/NFD in 2007, the year he died."

MRI ScanBrian says that his brother, Harrison, had a kidney transplant in 2004 and his body accepted the new kidney. But he had another MRI and "slowly but surely, his health gradually went downhill". Harrison had yet another MRI in 2007 and this time, his medical records indicated that he was allergic to the MRI contrast agent.

"I think his death was caused by gadolinium," says Brian. " The last MRI he had was in September, just before he passed away, but I know he had several MRIs leading up to his death. He should never have been given this dye.

Harrison lived in Baltimore so I didn't see too much of him. And I was a trucker so I was on the road a lot, but I did see how his skin got leathery and he developed splotches all over his skin and that was also mentioned in his medical records... Harrison was only 54 when he died.

Harrison was a light-skinned black man, like the rapper and actor Ice-T. But for some time before he got the kidney, his pigmentation was really dark and leathery, as dark as Wesley Snipes. After the kidney transplant, the sun came out again and his skin was as light as Halley Berry's.

And he lost a lot of weight, from 210 pounds to about 120 pounds. I really believe Gadolinium killed him, especially that last MRI in 2007, the one that states that he was allergic to the contrast agent."

Of course Brian wonders for how long Harrison was "allergic" to gadolinium in the contrast agent. One thing he knows for sure: Harrison had never heard of any MRI health risks.
