Denver, CO From a scientist’s point of view, the biggest problem we face with fracking is that we don’t know what is exactly being put into the ground and what is coming back out. So why doesn’t the public know? Forensic chemist Gregory Marsh says it is mainly due to lack of regulations and because of corporate proprietary formulations that are trade secrets.

While bereft of mechanical rides per se, the thrill of the ride down atop a pair of skis or a snowboard can match that of any good rollercoaster. Sadly, in the midst of such activity there is always risk for an amusement park accident.

Washington, DC WorldVariety Produce, Inc. of Los Angeles, CA is recalling Serrano Peppers, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

His variable annuity and his IRA have both lost money and he is concerned about paying his wife's nursing home bill. Frank thought he would have money to leave his children, but thanks to recent stock market losses, he may have very little left to give them.

Rock Springs, WY Looking at the vast sky, it seems impossible that, with all that room, two planes could ever collide in midair. Yet that is exactly what happens sometimes, resulting in tragic plane crashes. Most recently, three people died in a collision between two single-engine planes near Rock Springs. One plane was taking off while another was attempting to land. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
