Oakland, CA Simon likens his obligation to paying for unwanted and unauthorized mobile content to being forced to pay to listen to telemarketers or crank callers. Three years ago he filed a complaint about T-Mobile for negligence in not providing a text-blocking device when his girlfriend was receiving unwanted SMS-text messages. The company's succinct response was 'change your number'. Unfortunately, with mobile marketing in rabid development today, you can be sure multiple companies will be text-messaging your number.

Cramming is the latest catch phrase for unauthorized mobile content that shows up on your cell phone bill that you didn't authorize. You didn't order it, didn't ask for it, and didn't subscribe to it—at least knowingly. And yet you continue to get billed by a third party for something you hardly even know exists, let alone use.

Washington, DC About 70 million current AT&T mobility customers will soon receive notification that they may be eligible for a refund as part of a class action lawsuit settlement. According to Jay Edelson, lead counsel for the plaintiffs, AT&T customers will soon be able to claim refunds on charges to their cell phones between January 1, 2004 and May 30, 2008.
