Attorney Explains California Overtime and Inside Sales Employees

Sacramento, CA If you are an inside sales worker and have worked more than 40 hours a week, you may be entitled to California overtime. Further, if you are salaried, collect commissions and have been paid overtime, it is possible that your employer miscalculated your overtime rate, according to attorney Allen Vaught at Baron and Budd law firm.

Attorney: Employers Regularly Miscalculate California Overtime Pay

Los Angeles, CA When it comes to determining California overtime pay, many employees assume their employers use the correct calculations—and correct figures—to arrive at an hourly rate. Paul Haines, attorney at Boren, Osher & Luftman, LLP, says that when certain bonuses or premiums are offered, California overtime rates become more complicated, and many employers miscalculate the hourly rate, meaning their employees receive less pay for California overtime than they should.
