Propane Gas Recalled due to Fire and Burn Hazard
About 919,000 barrels of Propane (LP) gas manufactured by Valero Marketing & Supply Co., of San Antonio, TX, are being recalled because the odorant that is normally added to propane to help alert customers to a propane gas leak may not be present in the recommended amounts. Failure to detect leaking gas can present a fire, explosion or thermal burn hazard to consumers.
The gas involved in this recall may have been purchased from retailers in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Mississippi and Tennessee between January 2008 and October 2008.
