Toyota Halts Sales of Eight Vehicle Models due to Gas Pedal Problems

Detroit, MI: Toyota Motor Corp, announced today that it is halting sales of eight models of vehicles that were included in a recall last week over sticking gas pedals.

As of today, Toyota's US dealers will stop selling 2009-2010 RAV4, Corolla, Matrix, 2005-2010 Avalon, certain 2007-2010 Camry, 2010 Highlander, 2007-2010 Tundra and the 2008-2010 Sequoia.

Additionally, Toyota is also halting production at plants located in Indiana, Kentucky and Texas—as well as Canada—during the week of February 1st, in an effort to "asses and co-ordinate activities," according to a statement.
