American Airlines

Boston's Skycaps have filed a class action lawsuit against American Airlines, claiming tips have decreased since the airline started charging $2 for each curbside bag check in. Skycaps used to make most of their money from tips. The Skycaps are making more base salary and the new fee translates into a few more dollars per hour. However, now that American and other airlines collect fees for every bag, the carriers complain they are not making what they used to. The suit was filed in Suffolk Superior Court, but has recently become a federal case in US District Court in Massachusetts.
