Silver State Helicopters

A lawsuit has been filed and is seeking class action status against the helicopter school alleging fraud after closing the company and filing for bankruptcy. The complaint claims Silver State Helicopters told students and employees that the company was negotiating with new financial backers and that classes would be canceled for a week or two. But on February 3, 2008, the school shut down, leaving the certification and financial fate of thousands of students and employees up in the air.

Thousand of students nationwide are tens of thousands dollars in debt from school loans and now have nothing to show for it. The school cost upwards of $70,000 for 18-months of training. Silver State Helicopters fired all its employees and filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Students with thousands of hours of training left before certification are not being offered refunds or compensation.

To whom this may concern,

I just read an article about Silver State Helicopters, and I was one of the students that was caught up in this fiasco at their Chino, Ca location. I am still paying on my loan after all these years and to never got my license that was promised. Silver State took my loan out as a personal loan instead of a student loan therefore I couldn't get it dismissed.
Have you heard any news about students being refunded their money? Please let me know any info that you know about this. Paying on a loan for a dream I didn't get to finish is heart breaking every single month.

I was lead to believe that I could fly at 240 lbs, due to web site, then when I got to school they said I had to be at 200 lbs. I have been trying to lose weight since. I have zero flight hours, and now the school goes bankrupt and I still have to pay the $70,000 loan at 10% interest. I want my money back!
