Silicone-Based Breast Implants Cause Adverse Health Effects Lawsuits Allege
Santa Clara, CA: Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiary Mentor Worldwide are coming under scrutiny for allegedly not doing the proper studies mandated by the government, for their silicone-based breast implants.
One lawsuit has already been filed against Mentor in California, alleging the implants leak, posing health risks and which have caused a variety of health problems for the plaintiff inducing muscle pain and nausea.
Silicone breast implants were a frequent target of lawsuits during the 1980s and 1990s, prompting some manufacturers to seek bankruptcy in an effort to resolve claims. In 1992, regulators banned the use of silicone-based breast implants following a raft of lawsuits filed by women who claimed the devices cancer and rheumatoid arthritis.
In 2006, U.S. Food and Drug Administration lifted the 14-year ban on the implants. Currently, Mentor, Allergan Plc and Sientra Inc, are the only companies authorized by the FDA to sell the devices.
In September 2016, a lawsuit was filed against Mentor and J&J by a Seattle woman who claims her silicone implants caused skin rashes, extreme fatigue and left her bloodstream laced with heavy metals used to manufacture the devices.
Attorneys for the plaintiffs believe that the two lawsuits filed to date are just the tip of the iceberg, and that thousands of women across the US may have been harmed.

I was apart of the Canadian study back in 2003 that helped approve them here in the states. I have the Allergan 410 cohesive implants. Throughout the years I have struggled with my health but in 2013 I started having autoimmune symptoms. I had hair loss, acne, extreme fatigue, swelling in joints, swelling in face, dark circles, ringing ears, light sensitivity, sound sensitivity, sun intolerance, burning skin, tingling skin, muscle cramps, back spasms, stabbing shocking pain under ribs, neck stiffness, shoulder pain, thumbs go numb in cold, heat intolerance, cold intolerance, inability to regulate my temp, night sweats, nerve pain, muscle weakness, eye pain, headaches, restless leg syndrome, anxiety, depression, cognitive issues, confusion, loss of words, Lupus dx, possible fibromyalgia.
I have been healthy all my life, competing in figure and always conscious of what I eat. We have no genetic diseases where these symptoms make sense. Since being diagnosed my Lupus D.X has been challenged and no one has been able to figure out my sun issues. Yet Aal of these symptoms correlate to Silicone toxicity.
I too have been experiencing several health issues after just months of having my implants . Depression/anxiety/insomnia/night sweats/muscle and joint pain / severe plantars fasciitis / drastic vision change along with dry eyes / constant dehydration/ cuts that won't heal / persistent cold that keeps coming back every couple of weeks / pain in my chest especially my right side / sever dry skin /dry mouth / hair loss / weight gain/ extreme fatigue constantly exhausted for no reason . The list goes on . I've only had my textured cohesive gel implants for 2 years. Very disappointing and stressful . Just like someone else claimed feeling 20 years older than what they are - I too feel that way . At 33 I feel like I traded my quality of life in for these things . I can literally see my face aging month by month at this point
I have Mentor memory gel implants and have the same symptoms as the comments made before me. My joints and the muscle pain are debilitating at times. Fatigue, memory loss, and pain are also present. I have asked my PS if it could be the implants and he absolutely not also. It all started after the implants as well.
I have had muscle pain, extreme fatigue, cannot sleep, cannot loose weight, memory loss, Ana blood test elevated, extreme back pain in kidneys when sleeping and breathing that wakes me up and severe pain when moving when laying down ect every time I ask doctor if can be implants they say impossible. Did not feel this way until I got the mentore silicone implant in 2007. I am only 48 and feel 68.
I had silent ruptured mentor memory gel and have been sick for 6 years. I need your help.
