Mulcahy Inc.

A class action lawsuit has been filed against the drywall company for allegedly exploiting workers and violating labor standards. The lawsuit was filed in federal court and claims Mulcahy Inc., Mulcahy Development, Mulcahy Family Limited Liability Limited Partnership, and Gary Mulcahy Sr. failed to pay Latino workers minimum wage, required employees to work overtime at a substandard rate, denied economic and health benefits, and denied work breaks.

The class action was filed on behalf of current and former employees who seek to have their names kept anonymous, claiming threats of severe bodily harm and other reprisals have occurred. The suit claims Mulcahy hired Latino bosses to recruit Latino workers to exploit. Latinos are paid a day rate, cash, and a fraction of what others employees are paid. The class action alleges Latino, immigrant employees were required to work 12 hour days, six days a week, while other employees averaged 40-hour weeks.
