Melamine-Contaminated Chocolate Coins In Costco, Dollar Stores

National Recall Issued

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a nationwide recall after discovering melamine in Sherwood Brands Pirate's Gold Milk Chocolate Coins, which are sold at Costco, bulk stores and dollar stores across the country.

The recall affects more than 3,300 kilograms of chocolates, with bar codes of 0 36077 112407 and lot code 1928S1.

The chocolate coins were sold in 840 gram containers, each containing 240 pieces. They were distributed nationally since January 2008. The CIFA said the most recent shipment of chocolates entered Canada in April, 2008.
