A $400 million verdict has been reached in the patent infringement lawsuit filed on behalf of Dr. Gary Michelson, a spinal surgeon and inventor, and Karlin Technology, Inc. The suit alleged that that Medtronic materially breached purchase and license agreements between the parties, engaged in wrongful conduct, infringed six patents owned by Dr. Michelson, and intentionally underpaid royalties.
