Inaccurate Test Results / Inaccurate Diagnosis

Patients around the country may have been given inaccurate test results for more than 40 diseases and conditions, including cardiac disease, hepatitis (A, B or C), thyroid disorders, HIV and pregnancy due to a defective medical diagnosis solution.

Physicians, hospitals, and labs use a special chemical solution to analyze patient samples and conclude diagnoses. This chemical or reagent, VITROSĀ® Signal Reagent (Lot 8350 and Lot 8530, catalog # 107 2693) has been recalled when Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Inc discovered a problem with the solution which lead to inaccurate test results. The reagent is used with VITROS Immunodiagnostic ECi/ECiQ System.
