Julian LeCraw & Company

A lawsuit seeking class action status has been filed against Julian LeCraw & Company; a group that converted apartments to what are now the Concord West of the Ashley condominiums. The condo's Homeowners Association has filed the lawsuit claiming negligence and fraud surrounding long term water damage that, after an engineering inspection, has prompted the City of Charleston inspectors to prohibit use of all balconies and decks in the complex.

The association's suit claims the company have known about the building's problems, but also that it covered up the deficiencies, including defective windows and inadequate roofs. LeCraw officials claim this is the first they have heard of these problems, and that prior to purchase, buyers had the opportunity to have their own inspections.
