A class action lawsuit has been filed and is seeking to reinstate home heating rebates scrapped by the new Liberal government. The Liberals made an election promise to keep the rebate, which would have meant a saving of up to $200 per family of four that heats with electricity each year. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of New Brunswick residents and claims the government essentially broke a contract with the people of the province.
