GoDaddy Accused of Sending Spam Text Messages in TCPA Class Action Lawsuit

- by

Santa Clara, CA: GoDaddy is facing a Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) class action lawsuit based on allegations the company sent unsolicited text message advertisements.

In the lawsuit, filed by John Herrick, of Troy, Michigan, individually and for all others similarly situated, states that the technology and domain marketplace provider sent commercial text messages, without consent, to Herrick' cell phone.

As a result, the complaint states, Herrick and other class members were subjected to aggravation and an invasion of privacy, and also incurred costs for the receipt of such spam.

Herrick and others in the class seek an injunction, statutory damages, attorney fees and costs. They are represented by attorney Trinette G. Kent of Kent Law Offices in Phoenix, and by attorneys Phillip A. Bock, Tod A. Lewis and James M. Smith of Bock & Hatch in Chicago.

Have received several text messages from godaddy, even after I've responded with "stop".
