GM Recalls 100,000 Cars and Trucks

Detroit, MI: General Motors is announcing two separate recalls of five different vehicles, affecting approximately 100,000 cars and trucks.

The largest recall, involving 95,927 model-year 2005-2007 Cadillac CTS vehicles, has been initiated because the passenger airbag may fail to inflate in a crash, posing potential risk for injury or death.

The second, smaller recall affects roughly 1,262 model-year 2011 Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500 and Chevrolet Avalanche vehicles. This recall was initiated due to the defective manufacture of a rear axle pin that could result in the pin snapping causing the rear axle to lock. If this happens, the driver's directional control of the vehicle could be diminished posing the threat of injury or death.
