Santa Clara, CA: Shoe retailer DSW is facing a consumer fraud class action over allegations is uses deceptive and misleading advertising to market the exclusive merchandise it sells online and in its stores.
Filed by California resident Amy Evans, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, the complaint alleges DSW intentionally misrepresents prices for products manufactured and sold exclusively for it, claiming they are steeply discounted.
According to the complaint, the products are only sold at DSW and never for the alleged suggested retail prices, making the advertising claims about steep pricing discounts misleading.

My girlfriend just returned with a pair of shoes for about $70. The pricing on the box indicated that the original retail price was closer to $500 and that there was a yellow tag sale that indicated $200. She can whine thinking she had an incredible deal.
I looked up the price immediately and found only a $5 difference in retail price

I have brought shoes from DSW for years I had no idea.I thought they had the best prices I never would have thought they were cheating me.
