- by

Santa Clara, CA: Utz Quality Foods Inc, is facing a consumer fraud class action lawsuit alleging it misrepresents its Dirty Potato Chips.

Filed in Ventura County, individually and for all others similarly situated, the lawsuit claims specifically that Utz falsely labels its chips as "all natural" and as containing no preservatives. However, according to the complaint, these products contain non-natural, artificial, synthetic ingredients and preservatives.

The suit alleges common law fraud, intentional and negligent misrepresentation, breach of contract, unjust enrichment and violations of California's civil, business, and commercial codes.

Members of the class are represented by attorneys Barbara A. Rohr and Benjamin Heikali of Faruqi & Faruqi LLP in Los Angeles. The case is U.S. District Court for the Central District of California Case number 2:16-CV-03453-PA-JPR.
