Reports of Fires and Property Damage Prompts Dishwasher Recall

Nearly 500,000 Bosch and Siemens Dishwashers Implicated

About 476,500 Bosch and Siemens model dishwashers are being recalled because an electrical component in certain model dishwashers can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

BSH Home Appliances has received 51 reports of incidents, including 30 reports of fires resulting in property damage.

This recall involves certain Bosch and Siemens dishwashers manufactured from May 1999 through July 2005.

The dishwashers were sold at appliance and specialty retailers nationwide from May 1999 through December 2006 for between $550 and $1,100.

My kitchen caughtfire unaware at 1.30 am on 26 April 2017 from a Bosch diswasher bought and installed in 2003. The fire started while the washer was on washing cycle possibly towards the end as the dishes inside had been seen to be cleaned. Fortunately, we we were woken up by the smoke alarms and hence no one was hurt. But it took the fire brigade nearly three hours to remove the burning washer and purge out the smoke. Fire has damaged fully the dishwasher but the consequent damage to kitchen and house from smoke damage is extensive.Later confirmed that the product is one of the safety recall model numbers with fire threat issued by Bosch in 2012. Please advise what avenues I have to seek compensation from Bosch in relation to all associated damages?
