AT&T Wireless Services Inc., Night and Weekend Minutes

Class action status is being sought in a California lawsuit filed against AT&T Wireless Services, Inc. The complaint alleges that AT&T offered a cellular service plan which contain a fixed number of minutes per month called "Anytime Minutes" and a fixed or unlimited number of minutes called "Nights and Weekend Minutes" which only include calls made between a specified time period. If customers go over their "Anytime Minutes", they are charged a considerable rate per minute of overage. The suit claims that AT&T calculated minutes used during the nights and weekends as "Anytime Minutes" and wrongfully billed customers for "Anytime Minutes" that should have been provided at no charge.
