Antidepressants Linked to Increased Fracture Risk


Spinal Fracture Risk Increases in Post Menopausal Women

A study published in the May issue of the Journal of General internal Health has shown a link between antidepressant use and fracture risk in women whose average age was 64. The study reviewed data on 93,000 women enrolled in the Women's Health Initiative Observational Study, and found a 30 percent increased risk spine fracture and a 20 percent increased risk for any type of fracture.
