Defective Kitec pipes can cause flooding in the house

- by

Las Vegas, NVA natural disaster is only one way a property can get damaged through flooding, as some homeowners with defective Kitec pipes installed on their property know firsthand.

Kitec piping, manufactured by IPEX, has been the focus of numerous lawsuits around the country due to it reportedly causing leaks and water damage in homes where it has been installed.

According to homeowners who had the defective Kitec piping in their house, the Kitec pipes started to corrode because the water that flowed through them removed the zinc from the brass fittings. This is known as dezincification and resulted in reduced water flow and leaks in the Kitec pipes.

When this occurs, it not only damages the property with an in-house flood, but it has the potential to completely damage a house's plumbing system and make it difficult for some appliances to get water.

Recently, a number of lawsuits were settled concerning Kitec pipes, with the money received reportedly going into a fund that will go towards replacing the faulty piping at no cost to the affected homeowner.
