Don't Ask Wendy Williams, "How Ya Doin'?"

. By
New York, NYKnown for her "How ya doin'?" catchphrase, Wendy Williams may not be asking one of her staffers that question when it comes to the young female talent booker's claims that she was sexually harassed while on the job.

The young booker, named Nicole Spence, has scheduled such acts as Janet Jackson and other notable celebrities to appear on Williams' shock-jock radio show. She has also made her own booking in the form of a complaint filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission back in March. The complaint includes Williams, Williams' husband and manager Kevin Hunter, and the radio station WBLS.

Sexual HarassmentSpence says that Hunter would sexually proposition for her when he was in the building. He does not work for the radio station, but he would be present in the studio often. She says that, although his wife was in the building, he would continue to make his sexual remarks to her.

29-year-old Spence was finally driven to the edge after Hunter became rather obsessive. She alleges that he would tell her that he wanted to sleep with her and that he had been dreaming about it. She says he would make remarks to her, stating that she needed a real man in her life so that she could be molded into the woman that she was meant to be. He supposedly claimed that he was that man. As a result, she says she feared for her safety, especially after Hunter had apparently physically assaulted his wife.

Karen Webber, a lawyer for Spence, says that others have come forward to support the claims against Hunter. They say that he frequently used alcohol and that he used derogatory terms to refer to women. Violent outbursts against his wife have also been recorded by these individuals and other women claim that they were victims of his antics as well.

Spence often appeared live on the show and many listeners may recall that Spence was thrown out of the studio while on the air by Williams. Apparently Spence had made comments that Williams abetted the harassment that was inflicted by her husband. Spence says that Williams had offered to take Spence shopping so that she could dress sexy.

Co-attorney for Spence, Ken Thompson, has said that although some lines used against Spence may have been part of the radio show since it is a shock-jock show, she had the right to be in a work environment that was not an extension of the show. She had the right to work without being harassed and without being exposed to the acts of violence that Hunter allegedly committed against his wife. She has been moved out of her workspace, but she has not been fired. She still shows up every single day to do her job despite the fact that she has been ostracized for her claims.
