Why don't the original docs inform patients about such a recall?

I wish I knew. I had a left hip (2nd time) replaced in 2004 and within a year after surgery I had 3 dislocations in 14 months. The doctors kept telling me it was fine. Eventually I had the Chief Ortho Surgeon at the Phila. VAMC tell his residents that I had the wrong size hip put in. Real pain when you dislocate a hip.

Has anyone out there had the cap slip off the femoral head resulting in the cap grinding a notch in the back of their thigh bone? Well, I did. It caused so much pain and there was swelling inside and it made a grinding and clicking/ popping noise when I tried to walk. Eventually I could no longer walk. Then, I needed to have a revision done on my hip.?
My revision was done a year and 3 months later. When my revision was done my doctor said I didn’t need P.T. because I should remember what to do from the first one. Now my leg rotates toe in. Is there anyone else who has experienced a similar problem?
